Introduction

Velocity VPN ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is designed to provide secure and private internet access on Android devices.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Velocity VPN collects or processes, how that information is used, and how third-party services integrated into the App may process data.

VPN No-Logs Policy

Velocity VPN does not log or store users' VPN browsing activity or VPN traffic. We do not intentionally collect or retain:

  • Browsing history or websites visited through the VPN
  • Search queries or DNS queries made through the VPN
  • VPN traffic contents or transferred files
  • Destination IP addresses associated with VPN activity
  • Connection records that link VPN activity to an individual user

We do not sell, rent, or monetize users' VPN browsing activity or VPN traffic.

VPN Service & Android VpnService

Velocity VPN uses Android's official VpnService framework together with the OpenVPN protocol to establish an encrypted VPN connection when the user chooses to connect.

VPN traffic is routed through the selected VPN server to provide the VPN service. The VPN tunnel can be disconnected by the user at any time.

Information We Do Not Collect

Velocity VPN does not require users to create an account with their name, email address, phone number, or password to use the core VPN service.

We do not intentionally collect the following directly from users:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Contacts or address book
  • Messages or SMS
  • Photos, videos, or personal device files
  • Personal documents

Third-Party Services

Velocity VPN uses third-party services to provide advertising, analytics, subscription billing, anonymous authentication, and cloud-based server configuration.

  • Google AdMob
  • Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)
  • Google Analytics for Firebase
  • Firebase Authentication
  • Cloud Firestore
  • Google Play Billing
  • Google Play Services

These services may independently collect or process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable settings.

Google AdMob

Velocity VPN uses Google AdMob to display advertisements in the free version of the App.

Depending on the user's location, consent choices, device settings, and applicable laws, AdMob may process information such as device identifiers, the Android Advertising ID (where available), IP address, and advertising-related usage information to provide, measure, and protect advertising services.

AdMob is operated by Google and may process information according to Google's applicable privacy practices.

How Google uses information from sites or apps

Google UMP & Advertising Consent

Velocity VPN uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to support consent requirements for users in regions where applicable privacy laws require consent for certain advertising purposes.

  • Where required, users may be presented with a consent form before personalized advertising is enabled.
  • If personalized advertising is not permitted or consent is not provided, applicable non-personalized advertising may be used instead.
  • Users may manage available advertising consent choices through the mechanisms provided by Google and the App.

Google Analytics for Firebase

Velocity VPN uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app usage, engagement, and performance.

Depending on the App's configuration, Analytics may process information such as app interactions, events, session information, device-related information, and diagnostic or usage information.

We use Analytics information to understand how users interact with the App, identify usage trends, improve features, and improve app performance and reliability.

Firebase Authentication & Cloud Firestore

Velocity VPN uses Firebase services to support app functionality and maintain its available VPN server configuration.

  • Firebase Authentication: Anonymous authentication may be used to provide a pseudonymous identifier without requiring users to provide their name, email address, or password.
  • Cloud Firestore: Stores VPN server configuration information such as server endpoints, ports, and supported connection protocols so the App can retrieve an up-to-date server list.

In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Velocity VPN may offer optional premium features or subscriptions through Google Play Billing, including access to premium servers and removal of advertisements.

  • Payments and subscription transactions are processed by Google Play.
  • We do not collect or store users' credit card, debit card, or banking information.
  • We may receive purchase or subscription entitlement information necessary to provide premium features.

Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information used by the App and its supporting services.

VPN connections are established using encrypted VPN protocols. Access to our cloud configuration services is restricted using appropriate access controls and security rules.

We do not intentionally route or store users' VPN browsing activity on developer-owned application servers.

Data Retention

Velocity VPN does not retain VPN browsing history, DNS queries, or VPN traffic logs.

Information processed by third-party services such as Google AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Authentication, and Google Play may be retained according to the respective provider's policies, systems, and applicable retention settings.

Children's Privacy

Velocity VPN is not specifically directed toward children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the App.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding personal information processed by us or by applicable third-party services. These may include rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing.

Requests relating to information processed directly by third-party providers may also need to be addressed according to those providers' privacy procedures.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our services, or applicable requirements. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are made.
